How it works

A key from your passcode
Argon2id turns your passcode into a key. Guessing requires time and memory, making brute-force attacks harder.

The key seed stays wrapped
Encryption keys come from a random seed. The cloud stores that seed encrypted with a key derived from your passcode.

Encrypted before syncing
Titles and descriptions are encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM. Swapped or tampered ciphertext is also detected.

The server can write, not read
MCP writes are encrypted with your X25519 public key. The server cannot read them; only devices with your passcode can.
Note: data cannot be recovered if you forget your passcode. Due dates, status and ordering are not encrypted.
